We strongly recommend choosing USPS Priority Mail (1–3 days) to help your plant arrive fresh and hydrated.
If you choose slower shipping, especially in warm weather, your plant may arrive stressed or dry.

💬 Why the Change?

When I started sharing Huacatay from my garden, I was simply excited — excited to connect with people who missed the flavors of Peru and to make this hard-to-find plant more accessible in the U.S. I offered free shipping at first because I wanted this to feel like a gift from one home gardener to another.

But after sending out over 60 orders, I realized I hadn’t planned for everything it takes to ship a living plant safely: shipping boxes, foil wrap, soil, tape, labels, and packaging supplies — all of it added up quickly. I ran out of materials and had to turn my kitchen into a full-on packing zone. For this to keep going, I need to make it sustainable.

So I’ve adjusted the pricing: the plant is now $20, and shipping will be added at checkout.

I’m still committed to keeping this as affordable as I can — because I love seeing Huacatay grow in your homes and gardens. This change just helps me keep going, so I can keep sharing.
